CRACKS: where you can get utilities that remove the protection from the game and/or protection codes if I have them
FAQS: my favorite or the only-game-in-town-type faqs and walkthroughs reviewed with content summaries and where you can get them and/or cheat codes if I have them
GAME: where you can get the game – new, used, abandoned
GAMEDOCS: where you can get the original game documentation - game manual, installation instructions, readmes, and quick reference cards.
GAMEMAP: where you can get scans of the map that came with the game
GUIDE: where you can download hint books or game guides
LEVEL MAPS: screenshots of area/region or dungeon level maps, many annotated with keys to special locations
MUSIC: where you can download the music
PATCHES: where you can get fixes, unofficial upgrade patches, official patches, etc.
SAVEGAMES: where you can get some else’s saved game if you can’t make the run to that important gate before it slams in your face (common problem with Lara Croft)
SHORTCUTS: DOS games only. These are my desktop shortcuts with imbedded autoexec and config sys commands which get Windows to run your game
TRAINERS: where you can get game trainers and editors
WINGAMES: actual saved wingames for games that allow you to import your characters from the previous game in the series.
VAD’S SPECIAL TREASURES: what information I have on the game. This is currently stored in extensive databases which we are currently working on converting to downloadable files, so keep checking the Treasure Room. VAD’s info includes:
- Places:
- highlight summaries and significance of major places like regions, towns, dungeons, castles, camps (etc.), local shoppes (with inventories if known), services, public buildings, etc.
- Who’s Who:
- the dope on every friendly character and enemy (named enemies only, like Sarevok) in the game and what they do (give quests, train you, give info, clues, etc.)
- includes Gods, Saints, hirelings
- Spells:
- all the game spells with what they do and effectiveness ratings
- Items:
- all the game items with ratings, stats (damage, AC, THAC0, etc.) and what they do (if it’s not as obvious as hit a monster with it or wear it), which classes can use it, proficiency required, where you can buy it or find it, cost and selling price.
- Monsters:
- all the game monsters with stats (experience, hit points, resistances, immunities) and tips on how to beat them
- Party:
- professions, races, skills, abilities, proficiencies with ratings
- Strategy:
- how you complete whatever quest, steal from a shopkeeper, etc., get to that item that you have the coordinates for but seem to be prevented from reaching by a transparent wall, etc.
