SOULBRINGER (soul)

"Soulbringer is an epic dark fantasy RPG by Infogrames, which never attracted much media attention. It was published, and soon forgotten by most. But there are those of us who remember ...

A thousand years ago, six demon kings, known as the Revenants, ruled the world with an iron fist. Only one man could fight the League of Six, and his name was Harbinger. He fought the Revenants, and cast their souls into the Well of Souls. Yet were they truly defeated?

A long time has passed since the destruction of the Revenants. All the great empires but Thardolin have fallen. An endless winter has begun. The world is a dangerous place once more. You are a young man whose real name is never revealed. You live in the little town of Kalaran. Your father’s last wish before he goes to the Well is that you travel to the town of Madrigal and find your uncle, Andrus. The game begins as you reach Madrigal on a ferry. You do not know what awaits you: you will have many adventures, and travel to many places. You will follow the footsteps of Harbinger, and succeed where he did not. • Bookmarks for Soulbringer

Most of the original Soulbringer websites like soulhelp.com (a really good fansite) and soulbringer-game.com (the Infogrames Soulbringer home page) have either disappeared entirely or their domain names have been taken over by search 'n sell companies (sigh...). Most of what there is now on the net for Soulbringer is located on the "cheats" sites. If you have the soul of an archivist or just like to collect goodies (like some dragons I could mention ...), you may want to visit a dead web page archive like Internet Archive: Way Back Machine (has a search engine). Type in the URL http://www.soulbringer-game.com/ and it will bring up the archive for Infogrames Home Page. Check out the pages for 2000-2001 (choose UK or International after the page loads and you'll find a lot of neat stuff). You can do the same for http://www.soulhelp.com/ (once a nice Soulbringer help site, now a boring Yahoo clone) and check out the same years. A lot of information is still there for both sites. If you don't feel like going to all that trouble look at the Bookmarks below :-)

• Absolute Games: Soulbringer. This is a Russian site with an FAQ, a couple of Solutions, some useful hints, and some trainers (all in English marked with a British Flag). Very useful site.
• : )Absolut Cheats' Soulbringer. Has the walkthrough by Matt P. (older version), trainers, savegame with max stats, cheat patch, cheat codes. Good site.

• : )INFOGRAMES Soulbringer. This is a link to the old archived Infogrames Soulbringer home page. Has some stuff on geography, etc... Not all of the links on the page have been archived and some of the pics don't load, but it's worth a look anyway.
• : )Soulhelp - The Soulbringer Gamer's Resource. Here it is, a link to the old archived Soulhelp site (as it was just before it disappeared). Has some stuff on weapons, armor, etc. Not all of the links on the page have been archived, for example the walkthrough isn't there, but you may find some stuff you like anyway.

Everything you need to get through the game is here - answers to commonly asked questions, tips and tricks, stats analysis, spells analysis, weapon and armor recommendations, a discussion of herbs AND a walkthrough. • Unknown author, “Soulbringer Solution”. This is (I'm pretty sure) the walkthrough from the old Prima Games on-line Soulbringer guide.
